Tab Trade — The Short Version
Tab Trade opened in March 2026. Trading platform based in Saint Lucia, licensed through Saint Lucia's FSRA. The founder is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was a senior exec at BlackBull Markets, a FMA-regulated broker.
The BlackBull connection tells you something. It means the founder knows how a proper broker operates. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. But preferable to someone with no brokerage experience.
TabTrade came out of the gate with Equinix LD4/LD5 connectivity. Same data centres institutional desks use. Most new brokers leads with marketing and bonuses. These guys went the other way. Unusual for a new broker.
Market coverage: forex, indices, metals, oil, energies, softs, stock CFDs, cryptocurrencies, exchange-traded funds. Over 1,000 instruments. For a platform this new, the breadth is broad.
Platforms
They offer: MetaTrader 5, cTrader by Spotware, and a WebTrader. Both MT5 and cTrader from the same login. Many pick one platform. Access to both is useful. Pick what suits your style.
MetaTrader 5 is the default. Complete charts, Expert Advisors, huge user base. If you have traded on a MetaQuotes platform previously, it is familiar territory.
cTrader by Spotware is the cleaner option. Cleaner order book. Faster charting. Built-in algo trading. A lot of traders find it more natural after using both.
FIX API is available for automated strategies but needs the VIP account ($25,000 deposit). TradingView charting is said to be coming. That will round things out when it lands.
What You Pay
Three levels: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard account. 1.0 pip spreads. No commission. Easy to track. Zero deposit requirement. Works for anyone who does not want to think about commission.
Edge account. True raw pricing from 0.0 pips average. Flat commission of $3.50 per side. All-in: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On liquid pairs, the raw spread is frequently a fraction of a pip. So your all-in cost can sit below 0.5 pips. That is hard to beat for a broker with $0 to start. Most platforms that have spreads this tight want $500 or more to open. Tab Trade requires zero deposit.
VIP. $25k to open. FIX connectivity, sub-20ms execution, tailored rates. Not for typical accounts. Skip it unless you move real size.
Execution Speed
The speed is where TabTrade stands apart. Equinix LD4/LD5. Under 30ms on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. These are not marketing fluff. Most retail brokers run hundreds of milliseconds.
Should you care? If you scalp, yes. The gap between fast execution and sluggish execution is profit or loss on tight trades. If you swing trade, it matters less. What matters is the infrastructure is there. That is what kind of broker this is.
Pair those fill times with raw spreads at $3.50 per side and what you get is strong. Few brokers in this bracket run Equinix connectivity.
The FSRA Question
Here is the part you need to be straight about. The broker is licensed by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Saint Lucia. That is tier-3. No FCA. No investor compensation scheme. If that is a dealbreaker, look elsewhere. Lots of FCA-regulated options out there.
But. The founder built his career at BlackBull Markets, a tier-1 regulated broker. The execution setup is expensive. Fly-by-night platforms do not bother with tier-1 data centre access. None of this replace tier-1 regulation. But inform your assessment.
The deal: you give up tier-1 protection. For that: high leverage, cheap spreads, $0 to start, Equinix execution. Whether this deal works comes down to your priorities.
